Ingredients:
- 1 cup masoor dal (red lentils)
- 3 cups water
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
- Rinse and cook masoor dal with water, turmeric, chopped tomatoes, onion, and ginger-garlic paste until soft and cooked.
- In a separate pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds. Add coriander powder, red chili powder, and sauté briefly.
- Combine the dal with the spice mixture. Simmer for a few more minutes, adding garam masala and salt to taste.
