Aloo Tikki, a beloved street food snack, is a mouthwatering combination of mashed potatoes and aromatic spices. This recipe is incredibly versatile and can be enjoyed on its own or as part of a chaat (Indian street food) platter.
Ingredients:
4 medium-sized potatoes, boiled and mashed
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 green chilies, finely chopped
1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, chopped onion, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt.
Mix well to form a uniform mixture.
Divide the mixture into equal-sized portions and shape them into round patties.
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
Gently place the patties into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
Remove the patties from the pan and drain excess oil on a paper towel.
Serve hot with mint chutney or tamarind chutney.
